Savage Minnesota

Situated on the south bank of the Minnesota River is the city of Savage.  A population of over 27,000 residents, Savage is 15 miles southwest of downtown Minneapolis.  Although Savage is an industrial manufacturing job center, the area is still relatively rural and underdeveloped.

Some interesting facts about the city of Savage, Minnesota; during World War II it was the home for the  Military Intelligence Service Language School which taught Japanese to American military personnel

Also, a Mr. M. W. Savage had purchased a horse called Dan Patch and promoted that horse before every race which brought prominence to the area.  The locals decided to change the name from Hamilton to Savage.  That horse later went on to break the world pacing mile record, which held for 54 years!
